Held at United Square, the STTA-PCF Carnival saw over 200 kindergarten children participate in a day of fun and games as they compete in an inter-PCF table tennis competition among 18 constituencies. The Carnival is to showcase the table tennis skills of the young paddlers to nurture future sports talents of Singapore. In support of the sport, United Square sponsored $5,000 worth of cash and shopping vouchers for the event.

In celebration of the Singapore National Table Tennis Women’s Team victory at the LIEBHERR 2010 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Moscow, the team went on a Victory Parade on Saturday, 26 June with a final pit stop at Velocity@Novena Square. To encourage more talented Singaporeans to take up the sport, Velocity@Novena Square donated $40,000 to the Singapore Table Tennis Sports Fund.

Velocity GIVES, a 3-year fund-raising programme in support for home-grown elite athletes with disabilities, donated 10% of all promotional redemption amounting to $21,515 during the promotion period of 17 days to Mr Adam Kamis for his sporting pursuits.

Velocity selected Mr Adam Kamis to be the beneficiary of this year’s donation because of his exceptional start in his sports career. He is the first person with disability to compete in the Swissotel Vertical Marathon and a proud silver medallist in the 800m category of the 5th ASEAN Para Games in 2009.Velocity GIVES is part of the Sports from the Heart Movement, a collaboration with the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) to promote disability sports in Singapore. As a dedicated sports mall, Velocity continues to show support for sports by contributing back to the community.
UOL was the official sponsor for Ride from the Heart – 1,000 miles for the Kids, a charity cycling expedition from Phuket to Singapore. The 2-week expedition by 12 undergraduates ended at Velocity@Novena Square and helped raise funds for the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.

UOL Group represented by Velocity@Novena Square signed up for The Business Times – Philips World Cup Fund, a charity challenge in aid of Food from the Heart. As Singapore's first sports mall, the participation in this corporate charity was a novel way to associate with the World Cup and at the same time raise funds for the less fortunate. Assigned to the Ivory Coast team, $1,000 was donated to Food from the Heart for every match the team played.
