On 27 and 28 May 2023, UOL sponsored and hosted an inspiring art event in collaboration with ART:DIS, a charity that empowers persons with disabilities through the arts, at United Square. Led by established ART:DIS artist, Eugene Soh, the event provided participants of all ages with an enriching experience in abstract painting techniques.
Over the two-day event, Mr Soh conducted four art jamming workshops, allowing over 40 participants to delve into the world of abstract art and gain invaluable insights into his creative process. With his guidance, participants were encouraged to explore their artistic expressions, drawing inspiration from the artist’s own artworks. They also had the opportunity to interact and paint alongside other budding ART:DIS artists.
UOL Group Chief Executive Liam Wee Sin and ART:DIS Executive Director Angela Tan also participated in some of the workshops.
To secure a spot in the workshops, shoppers were required to spend a minimum of $30 to redeem a workshop pass.
The workshops took place in conjunction with the ongoing ART:DIS art showcase at United Square, which features 20 artworks by Eugene Soh and another artist Tay Bee Lian. Visitors can admire these artworks at United Square, Level 1, located near the escalators above Ya Kun Kaya Toast. Digital prints of these artworks at $150 each are also available for purchase. The art showcase will run till 30 September 2023.
Participants embraced the one-of-a-kind opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of abstract art.
