UOL and its hotel subsidiary PPHG were recognised by Community Chest as valued partners in building a sustainable giving culture in Singapore at the official launch of its Change for Charity initiative held on 13 February 2023.
Under this initiative, Community Chest will partner businesses to incorporate a giving mechanism into their business models. UOL enabled its shoppers to convert their POPPoints into cash donations through the U-POPP loyalty programme app during the period from 14 November to 11 December 2022. For PPHG, it will donate part of the proceeds from the all-day dining restaurants at its five hotels in Singapore from October to December 2023. The donations would go to Community Chest, which supports over 100 social service agencies in Singapore.
At the Change for Charity Pledge Ceremony, Mr Kwa Bing Seng, UOL Chief Financial Officer, and Ms Wee Wei Ling, PPHG Executive Director (Sustainability Partnerships, Lifestyle & Asset), represented UOL and PPHG respectively in pledging commitment to support the initiative. The event was graced by Host, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for Health.
