UOL and PPHG have been conferred the Distinguished Patron of the Arts Award for the fourth consecutive year by the National Arts Council (NAC), in recognition of their significant contributions to the development of the arts in Singapore.

Mr Liam Wee Sin, UOL Group Chief Executive and Ms Wee Wei Ling, PPHG Executive Director, Sustainability Partnerships, Lifestyle & Asset, received the award from Guest-of-Honour, Mr David Neo, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, at a ceremony held on 20 August 2025 at Pan Pacific Singapore.

Mr Liam said: “Through our arts initiatives and support over the years, we have seen firsthand how artists with disabilities flourish and thrive, building confidence and skills, and gaining mentorship and opportunities to showcase their talents locally and even internationally.

“The way the arts empower them to grow and shine reminds us that every artist, including those with special needs and disabilities continue to contribute a unique voice to our world. We hope to rally more partners to join us and support this group of talented artists, so that we can open more doors and create more spaces for these voices to be celebrated and valued.”

As part of the Group’s ongoing commitment, it hosted the first solo exhibition of Fern Wong, winner of the inaugural 2023 UOL X ART:DIS Art Prize, at Objectifs last year. Mr Liam shared that by supporting artists like Fern, with her rich collection of works, it demonstrates to the disability community that they too can be outstanding in their art. Fern and her peers have since expanded their artistic journeys, reaching audiences both at home and overseas.

The Group’s dedication to the arts extends beyond a single programme. It has been supporting the Artability Programme at Rainbow Centre since 2024, a visual arts training programme for students aged 10 to 18 years old who demonstrate artistic talent and interest. Graduates over 18 are encouraged to continue their artistic growth through a progression pathway with ART:DIS.

As part of its broader commitment to inclusive arts, from July to December 2024, PARKROYAL on Beach Road hosted an inclusive arts exhibition organised by i’mable Collective, an initiative by SG Enable, showcasing works by artists with disabilities.

Through such initiatives, the Group’s immersive approach actively supports artists and encourages wider participation in the arts.
