UOL and PPHG were recognised for their community-building efforts at the SG Cares Community Network Session and ComLink Alliance meeting @ Jurong West held on 19 July 2023. The event was hosted by Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for National Development and Minister-in-charge of Social Services Integration.
UOL and its hospitality subsidiary PPHG had launched the UOL-PPHG Community Uplift Programme in January 2023, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF)’s Community Link (ComLink). The Programme aims to offer interesting and meaningful learning experiences for children from low-income families living in rental housing. In addition, in celebration of UOL’s 60th anniversary, the Company made a $60,000 donation to ComLink@Jurong West to help fund and support its programmes for children from low-income families.
UOL Group Chief Executive Liam Wee Sin and PPHG Executive Director (Sustainability Partnerships, Lifestyle & Asset) Wee Wei Ling, were each presented with a token of appreciation, which was designed by Irfan, one of the beneficiaries of the UOL-PPHG Community Uplift Programme. Since the launch of the Programme, the Group continued to organise activities for more than 60 beneficiaries during the March and June school holidays.
MSF has designated 2023 as the Year of Celebrating Social Service Partners. In conjunction with this, UOL and PPHG jointly produced a video to showcase their commitment in building a more inclusive society.
