UOL and Singapore Land Group Limited’s private launch of 226-unit MEYER BLUE on 5 October 2024 saw a robust take-up of more than 50% where 114 units were sold at an average price of $3,260 psf on the first day of sales. Touted as a sequel to Watten House, the private launch of the 180-unit development in November last year also recorded an impressive 57% sales on the first day. UOL Group Chief Executive Liam Wee Sin thanked the UOL team for their teamwork and hard work for another successful launch, and the SingLand team for their support. UOL General Manager of Residential Marketing Anson Lim thanked the three marketing agencies (PropNex Realty Pte Ltd, ERA Singapore and Huttons Real Estate Group) and commended their excellent co-operation with each other, which resulted in the strong outcome.
The two- and three-bedders accounted for about 77% of the sales, while the four- and five-bedders as well as the only two penthouses accounted for the remaining 23%. Mr Lim commented: “Buyers are attracted by the strong locational attributes, strong product and the freehold tenure. Many liked the larger proportion of bigger format units in MEYER BLUE, which positioned the freehold waterfront development as another of UOL’s ‘Luxury Masterpiece Collection’”.
In February 2023, UOL and SingLand had purchased the former Meyer Park condominium in an en-bloc sale for $392.18 million and developed it into another of their ‘Luxury Masterpiece Collection’ project, MEYER BLUE. The development with the tagline ‘Experiential Living by the Coast’ comprised a 26-storey tower.
Property consultants highlighted the lack of supply and the recent announcement of long-term initiatives to enhance the eastern parts of the island, such as the Kallang Masterplan and the Southern Coastal Plan, stretching 120 km from the Greater Southern Waterfront to the future Long Island along East Coast (mentioned at the 2024 National Day Rally) as an attractive growth story for MEYER BLUE.
